Safeguarding · 2026
At the Youth Apostolate and in all the ministries (SMTM, SMYM, and SMYCM), the safety, dignity, and well-being of every child, young person, vulnerable person and adult at risk are at the heart of everything we do. We are committed to providing safe, respectful, and inclusive environments where everyone can grow in faith with confidence and trust.
We adhere to all safeguarding policies and procedures of the Syro-Malabar Eparchy of St Thomas the Apostle, Melbourne, and uphold the National Catholic Safeguarding Standards. With zero tolerance for abuse, we take every concern seriously and remain committed to fostering a culture of care, accountability, and respect across all our ministries.
We are committed to the safety, wellbeing, and dignity of all children and young people who participate in our activities. All leaders and volunteers undergo appropriate screening and training.
All Youth Apostolate events maintain clear codes of conduct, appropriate adult-to-youth ratios, and transparent reporting mechanisms to ensure everyone feels safe.
If you have a safeguarding concern, please contact a member of our implementation team below. All concerns are treated with the utmost seriousness, confidentiality, and care.
Youth Apostolate operates in alignment with the Syro-Malabar Eparchy of St Thomas the Apostle's safeguarding policies and the Australian Catholic Safeguarding Framework.
